Morning Yoga

Description:

Our morning yoga session will gradually loosen up your body for the day.  Learn to enjoy your practice and move into poses with guidance including the use of props and therapeutics to improve flexibility and body awareness.  Enjoy a relaxation at the end of the session as well.  Level I

In 1992, I began my practice in Iyengar Yoga, resulting in a successful effort to avoid shoulder surgery, it has been an integral part of my life ever since.  In 2010, I became a (RYT) certified instructor in Ashtanga Yoga through Yoga Vermont.  My desire is to bring to others the healing that yoga has brought into my physical being while inspiring me spiritually and mentally.

I have been teaching classes since 2010 at Aspire Studio, Studio Three in Colchester and The Teen Center, and have offered classes to Howard Center employees.  In addition, I have held a variety of workshops:  Chair Yoga, Yoga for the Office, Yoga for Arthritis, Couples and Partner Yoga.  I am dedicated to enhance my instructor abilities and attend teacher workshops and conferences regularly.

Through practicing yoga into decades now, I am mindful of the changes a body goes through.  On the mat, in an effort to stay healthy we have the opportunity to get to know our bodies, recognize the changes and honor any limitations and find what is possible.   The less we move the more susceptible to injury we become.  This begins a cycle unless we decide to make a change.
