Recovering from cancer treatment is far more than the healing of bodies. Just as important is healing the mind and restoring the spirit. Having a positive attitude may help to improve health, happiness and even success. As a cancer survivor, it is especially hard to feel positive when you are not feeling well or are frightened about the future. Learning ways to overcome lows and to cultivate a positive attitude can improve daily life. Recovery is a time to realign priorities and focus on the people and pursuits that bring enjoyment. No need to dwell on the past. Learn to live each day to the fullest. Find ways to put joy in life each day.
“A positive attitude allows people to rise to life’s challenges, overcome adversity, resist illness and depression and lead happier, more successful lives.”
—Dr. Martin Seligman, Ph. D.
