Eating a healthy diet and maintaining a healthy body weight are important to everyone’s overall health. They are even more essential for cancer survivors, because extra body weight can factor into our disease. Eating a healthy, balanced diet can help us take off the weight we may have put on during cancer treatment. It can help us heal and recover more quickly. Best of all, it can help us feel better, look better, and stay stronger. It may also help to prevent a recurrence of our cancer and guard against two other big health issues as we age—heart disease and diabetes. Nutrition and exercise are two factors that we can control and can make a difference in how we feel each day.
